Machined female headers are the corresponding parts of headers that mate directly to machined male pin headers. Machined female headers (often called socket headers) are made of a plastic housing with many sockets where the round male pins are meant to fit. Like round pin headers, round female headers are offered in one to four-row configurations with varying pins per row.
